Formative Creative Experiences: Leggo, Space Invaders
'; bioContent += 'Influential Movies or TV Shows: ALIEN, BLADE RUNNER, EXCALIBUR, 2001, MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, THUNDERBALL, COOL HAND LUKE, HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER, DIRTY HARRY, FORCE TEN FROM NAVARONE, THE WIND AND THE LION, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (I still haven’t seen it in 70mm), THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING, THE FRENCH CONNECTION, THE EIGER SANCTION, and that one that Orson Wells was so good in.
'; bioContent += 'Comment on Your WBC Experience: WBC good, other programs bad (Don’t let Jeff Gordon brainwash you).
'; bioContent += 'What are your favorite WBC tools? I love the 3-6-3! I’m not diligent enough to get all the way through a horizontal. But man, that 3-6-3 will not steer you wrong.
'; bioContent += 'How you got your start in the business: Getting someone else’s lunch. Is there another way? Now somebody gets mine. I don’t complain when she screws up. She’ll probably be a studio executive someday. Don’t want to burn my bridges.
'; bioContent += 'Describe the Transition Stages of Your Career: 1) Deciding I definitely didn’t want to be an actor. 2) Toughest, after I lost a very cushy assistant job, I had to decide not to search for another one and devote that time to writing. 3) Throwing away my Olive Garden uniform after getting fired for refusing to sing the “Birthday Song”. Hopsitaliano is not a &^@$*%# word! 4) Second toughest. Five years of shit, no money up front, big back end deals with losers. You gotta pay the rent.
'; bioContent += 'How many hours per week do you devote to your creative work: Define creative. Currently, I’m on a daily TV show, so estimate 12 hours a day five days a week, then two hours towards that on Sunday night. Saturday I try to devote several hours to screen writing. I’d say 70 – 75 hours a week. Shit, why aren’t I rich yet?
'; bioContent += 'What biases or preferences do you have regarding the writing process? I don’t even know where to start.
'; bioContent += 'Do you have any special rituals, places you write, etc.? I used to have the ritual of coffee and cigarettes, but my wife and I just had our first baby so the cigs are out. Unfortunately coffee isn’t nearly as fun without them (neither is writing, or life come to think of it) . One thing is an absolute must I’ve found, I MUST have my ass in a chair in front of the machine. I don’t pretend to relish the thought of sitting on a mountaintop somewhere with a pad and some paper. I got my first computer at 12. I’d die without word processing.
