Located within the distinguished art community of Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, Writers Boot Camp's national headquarters offers the ideal setting for your next philanthropic event, school auction/fundraiser, festival premiere or wrap party, holiday event or corporate meeting.

Past venue guests have included AFI, HOPE, Focus on AIDS, The Grammy Foundation, The Jewish Federation, The Los Angeles Ballet, Make-A-Wish, Malibu Film Festival, MOCA, The Santa Monica Museum of Art, Sony Pictures, T.J. Martell Foundation, Yahoo!, and many happy wedding couples and bar and bat mitzvah celebrants. 

While our core business in the venue is supporting Writers Boot Camp members and alumni through their professional education, and managing our many creative forums in the film, television and digital entertainment business, we are pleased that many schools and philanthropic organizations have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for great causes at events held in our venue!

In addition to appearances on our stage by countless legends and luminaries in the creative arts and entertainment industry, and special events have included diverse performances by Dan Byrne, Charles Lloyd, Donna DeLory, Keb Mo and Patti Smith.

Guests enter via the main Bergamot Station entrance with free, ample parking and are welcomed by our spacious, outdoor courtyard, leading to a reception foyer and wide corridor that leads directly into the main event space.  The space is hip, lofty and open, with 22 foot high ceilings and modern architecture.

Capacity Indoor/Outdoor:  Special events may occupy nearly our entire main floor and spacious courtyard, including our 2000 square foot main event space called Morkaba, two large training rooms, catering prep area, green room and foyer with 18-foot roll-up garage door. 

Morkaba comfortably accommodates 150 for sit-down luncheons and dinners, and 180+ seated for corporate training, panel-style events, interviews, performances and screenings.  Morkaba can accommodate up to 300 for reception without formal seating.  The main floor and courtyard may accommodate up to 500 comings and goings over the course of an event, with options for food stations and bar service areas, and multiple stages of catering and entertainment.  Open flame is not permissible inside the building but can be set-up in the courtyard or outside the building on Michigan Avenue.

Morkaba is also available separately from the rest of the space, depending on whether event start times coincide with our regular screenwriting class sessions.  Our two training rooms, A & B, can accommodate 20-25 people with tables and 40-50 assembly style, respectively.  Training Room B has a full-length dance mirror on the north wall, hardwood floor and privacy curtain, and may be used for yoga classes or for one-on-one acting instruction.

Availability: During the day at certain times during the workweek; Weekend days and evenings; occasional nights Monday through Thursday.  We receive numerous inquiries, though we do provide consideration for advance and expedient commitment, as well as discounts for recurring renters when space is available. 

Events over 150 people require permitting through the City of Santa Monica, as well as potential sur charges, depending on the details, production logistics and set-up requirements of the particular event.
