The Writers Boot Camp Fellowship is unlike any other in that the award is only the beginning of the Fellowship. Selection as a Fellow sets you on a path of education, support and the opportunity to work as a professional writer in the entertainment industry.
In addition to providing three Fellowships every month, Creative Categories change monthly and reflect viable genres and project parameters for both feature film and original television series. Creative Categories also include rewards for diversity in subject matter and lead characters, as well as inspired writers based on personal experience and circumstances.
Once awarded, after individual sessionwork and one completed project, Writers Boot Camp Fellows compete for a development deal with Writers Boot Camp Productions and/or a studio, network or independent producer.
Our emphasis is on professional education, so we don’t expect you to know how to write a script. We ask you to answer 20 simple questions, submit an original project idea, write one scene conveying your project’s entertainment potential and to confirm your availability to commit 10 hours per week to your writing and creative work.
Notification to winners and candidates is swift and the evaluation process is thorough, based on Writers Boot Camp’s well-established professional tools. All candidates receive an optional 15-minute phone review session from an experienced staff member and additional benefits that are updated seasonally.
All Fellows receive an additional package of benefits, including special offers from our partners and organizations, screenwriting software, invitations to special events, live and in-person staff support and future alumni membership benefits.
